This doesn’t really fit in as “data jamming” but since it is created with congressional collateral I figured I’d stick it here.

I used to maintain the congressional photo collection as part of the Sunlight Labs API (bit.ly/​9i1zl7). This was a pretty thankless task, but someone had to do it. I have no idea who does it now, but I feel for them. In any case, I always wanted to make something like this with all the faces, but I thought as an employee and the person responsible for the archive it might be in bad taste/poor form.

Anyhow, playing around with ye olde Time Lapse Assembler the other day, I remembered this large collection* of images and finally got around to generating this video.

There’s no political motive or anything implied. Just a bunch of photos of some of the people that represent the citizens of the US.

*I had to remove some non-standard images from the collection as they were too distracting/annoying as they flickered by. As it stands, I’m still not pleased with the images that don’t employee the standard background, but c’est la vie. (Most) images come from bioguide.congress.gov/​
